I am an organizer not a politician. I am fighting for our most cherished American ideals of justice, equality, and government by the people and for the people. In our era, this just fight includes environmental justice, economic justice, and universal healthcare. I was born in Gardena and raised in Lynwood by my Mexican immigrant parents along with six other brother and sisters.
  • Healthcare Justice. I will fight to create a single payer healthcare system in California. We are the 5th largest economy in the world. We can afford it.
  • Environmental Justice. The air, water, and soil are not safe because of the corporate polluters. I will fight to make them stop and to clean it up.
  • Economic Justice. Rent Control is necessary to combat homelessness. Banks were bailed out because of the pandemic, so should citizens who have unpaid rent.
Healthcare Justice. We are the fifth largest economy in the world and we already pay for 70% of the healthcare given in the State. I will fight for Single Payer Healthcare. Single payer eliminates the insurance companies and when you need to see a doctor, you do not need to ask an insurance agency if you can do what the doctor says - you just do what the doctor says. Every other developed country has this type of care and it works well.

Economic Justice. SELA has the highest rates of poverty in the state. People pay more than 50% of their income towards rent. Homelessness is also high. I will fight for control of rent based on a percentage of earned income. In this time of pandemic, I will fight for rent and mortgage cancellation.

Environmental Justice.Corporations spew toxins into the land, air and water of our community with impunity. The case of Exide (a billion dollar corporation) is perhaps the best example. It poisoned SELA with lead for 30 years and they were allowed to get away without punishment or paying to clean up. The community is still paying in health consequens and lives and dollars to clean up the contamination.
