Maria Peiro (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Florida's 27th Congressional District. She lost in the Republican primary on August 28, 2018.

Peiro was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 27th Congressional District of Florida.[1] Peiro was defeated by incumbent Ileana Ros-Lehtinen in the Republican primary on August 30, 2016.[2]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) defeated Scott Fuhrman (D) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Ros-Lehtinen defeated David Adams and Maria Peiro in the Republican primary, while Fuhrman defeated Frank Perez and Adam Sackrin to win the Democratic nomination. The primary elections took place on August 30, 2016.[1][2]
