I am a first-generation immigrant and was undocumented for the majority of my childhood while being raised by a single hard-working mother. It is from this experience that I am intimately aware of what it is like to live in the margins of our society. During the toughest times in our lives, my family depended on the social safety nets of government programming to simply survive. It is this rich experience that informs my current public service role as the Executive Director of the Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs. I am an effective leader who
  • I am ready to put my fourteen years of experience to work on the issues that matter most to the residents of Thurston County’s 22nd Legislative District.
  • I am a community builder, and I intend to continue to build community as a legislator. I strongly believe that public service is a near-sacred duty. In my work today, and moving forward, I involve community in important decisions, meet people where they are, make myself available.
  • Change is made to last when we move together.
A Strong and Diverse Local Economy - Living wages are as essential for our working residents as they are to rebuilding our economy, supporting our local businesses starts with supporting our workers.

Support For Our Schools – The Center of Our Community - A fierce advocate for our education system has never been more crucial as we move forward in this post-pandemic world. We need new approaches to education policies that equally support our educators, students, and their families.

Effective Policies for Safer Streets - We need a common-sense and compassionate approach for ensuring access to housing and physical and mental health care for our unsheltered neighbors. Fighting for more funding is not enough; we need solutions and a holistic plan to keep keys in people’s hands.
I believe that the State Representatives are accountable to the people of their district, they should be focused first and foremost on the local issues that are directly impacting folks in their community.
