I am married with four children and six grandchildren,a Florida State graduate with a Doctorate in Education and a Master's in Public Administration, and I currently serve as an appointed volunteer on the Leon County Code Enforcement Board. I have been a public servant for over a decade, elected to the Jefferson County School Board in 2008, and then elected as Superintendent in 2016. We moved back to Tallahassee from Jefferson County to be closer to family, Prior to my work in public service, we owned a business in Tallahassee for over ten years. I am running for school board because the district is experiencing academic and financial distress and my skills and experience will bring added value to the board.
  • I want to inprove the use of our tax dollars through my expertise in school finance and government funding.
  • I want to increase experiential learning because we know that students learn better by doing.
  • We need to develop entrepreneurial programs to help students not simply get a job, but become job creators!
Transparency and accountability. It is time we elect ethical, responsible leaders who are truly committed to serve the public.
To advocate for the delivery of excellent education for all students.
My constituents are students, teachers, parents and everyone else that resides in the county.
By lisenting, by being open to opposing views, and maintaining a respectful dialog to find mutually beneficial solutions to problems.
It is a given that parents are a school's best asset and I will be accessible to parents, but I will also reach out to parents for counsel.
