Marianne Butler
Marianne Butler was a member of the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Butler assumed office on September 13, 2021. Butler left office on February 1, 2022.
Butler (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Louisville City Council to represent District 15 in Kentucky. Butler won in the general election on May 20, 2014.
Gov. Andy Beshear (D) appointed Butler to the public service commission on September 10, 2021, to replace Talina Mathews.[1] Butler served in the position for six months while waiting to be confirmed by the Kentucky State Senate. She was not confirmed and was replaced in February 2022.[2]
Butler was also a Democratic member of the Louisville City Council in Kentucky, representing District 15. She was first elected to the position in 2006. Butler did not file for re-election in 2018.[3]
Biography
Marianne Butler earned a B.S. and M.P.A. from the University of Louisville. Butler's career experience includes working as the manager of community initiatives with LG&E and KU Energy LLC and a communications specialist with Louisville Water.[4]

2014
Elections for the city council of Louisville, Kentucky took place on November 4, 2014. A primary election was held on May 20, 2014. In the Democratic primary, incumbent Marianne Butler (D) defeated Blake Oliver (D) and Khalilah V. Collins (D) for the District 15 seat. Butler was unopposed in the general election.[5][6][7]
