Marianne Jackson was a judge on the Cook County 7th Subcircuit in Cook County, Illinois.[1] She served as an associate judge from 1997 until 2014.[2][3] She ran for election to the Cook County 7th Subcircuit in 2014 but was defeated in the primary.[4][5]

On October 22, 2014, Jackson was appointed to the office of circuit judge for the Cook County 7th Subcircuit. She filled the vacancy created by the death of Anthony L. Burrell and assumed office on November 7, 2014.[6] She retired in 2018.[7]

Jackson ran for election to the Cook Judicial Circuit Court.
Primary: She was defeated in the Democratic primary on March 18, 2014, receiving 37.3 percent of the vote. She competed against Owens J. Shelby and Judy Rice. [4]

Education

Jackson received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in 1970 and her J.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign in 1973.[2]
