  • I’ve gotten to know the people of Iowa, and Iowans deserve progress, not a roll back on education, not a divisive drive down a party line that refuses to protect our waterways and the resources of our tax-payers by developing a proactive plan to address nitrates in our water. Iowans deserve access to mental health care. Iowa ranks 47th in the number of inpatient beds, and this ranking was before the shut down of several state facilities! We have a drastic lack of providers that needs addressed with a creative focus that includes multi-disciplinary pathways. We also need to support access to these providers for all Iowans.
  • Iowa has an opportunity to continue leading in alternative energies and developing new technologies. As we continue to move away from fossil fuels, alternative energy markets are only going to grow. This is a chance for Iowa to be ahead and ready to fill the gaps of technology and industry. We can’t accomplish this if we want to deny the science that’s happening in front of us. Climate change is real and we need a legislature that acknowledges that.
  • Women in Iowa deserve their needs addressed. From healthcare, to affordable childcare, to equal pay for equal work; it’s time to see the issues that affect women as issues. Women are not a fringe group and they are not a special interest. Economic security for families in Iowa needs to remain a priority. Investing in local business and infrastructure will strengthen our local economy and avoid giving big business a break at the expense of Iowa taxpayers.[1]
