Marie Grant is the Maryland Commissioner of Insurance. She assumed office on April 2, 2025. Her current term ends on January 20, 2027.
Gov. Wes Moore (D) appointed Grant as Maryland Commissioner of Insurance on July 29, 2024, to replace Joy Hatchette and took office as confirmed Commissioner on April 2, 2025.[1][2]
Biography
Grant earned a B.A. in public health from Johns Hopkins University, and a J.D. from Georgetown University. [3]
Prior to being named Maryland Commissioner of Insurance, Grant served at the Maryland Department of Legislative Services, as an Assistant Secretary for Health Policy at the Maryland Department of Health, and Vice President of Public Policy at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. [4]
