A Marilla Township Levy proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Manistee County, which is in Michigan where it was defeated.
This proposal authorized the Township of Marilla to renew a property tax levy that was reduced by required rollbacks back to the original 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 4 years in order to fund general operation costs. The estimated first year revenue from this tax was $16,617.81.[1]

Language on the ballot:
| “ | Shall Marilla Township, Manistee County, Michigan renew the previous voted increases in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution of one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value), reduced to 0.9828 mills by the required millage rollbacks, be increased to and renewed at the original voted one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 taxable value) and levied for four (4) years, 2012 through 2015 inclusive, for general operating purposes of the Township? If approved, it is estimated that the revenue generated by this proposal in the first year the millage is levied would be $16,617.81.
