Marilyn C. Castle is a judge of the 15th Judicial District in Louisiana. She was first elected to this position on November 3, 1998.[1][2][3] She was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[4][5]

Judge Castle was a 2016 candidate for the Louisiana Supreme Court, Third District.[6] She was defeated.

Education

Castle received her J.D. from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1976.[3]

Career

Castle began her career in 1976 as an assistant district attorney. She then worked as a private practice lawyer, focusing on business and commercial litigation, from 1979 until her election to the district court in 1998.[3]

Elections

2016

Castle filed to run for the Louisiana Supreme Court, Third District.[6] She ran for the seat held by retiring Justice Jeannette Theriot Knoll. Castle faced Judge James Genovese on November 8, 2016.
