Marilyn Moore
Marilyn Moore (Democratic Party) was a member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 22. She assumed office on January 7, 2015. She left office on January 8, 2025.
Moore (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Connecticut State Senate to represent District 22. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
On May 8, 2024, Moore announced she would not seek re-election to the Connecticut State Senate.[1]
Biography
Marilyn Moore attended the University of Bridgeport and resides in Bridgeport. Moore founded and is president and CEO of The Witness Project, which seeks to address and reduce breast cancer mortality. She has served as a member of End Hunger CT, the Network Support Team Connecticut Food Systems Alliance, and the Food Solutions New England Coalition. She received awards from the National Association of Negro Business and the Professional Women’s Club.[2]

Elections for the Connecticut State Senate consisted of a primary election on August 12, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Marilyn Moore defeated incumbent Anthony J. Musto in the Democratic primary, while Enrico R. Costantini was unopposed in the Republican primary. Moore defeated Costantini in the general election.[7][8][9]
