Marilyn Robinson
Marilyn Robinson was a 2015 candidate for District 13 of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee. The general election took place on August 6, 2015.
Biography
Robinson received a bachelor's degree in business administration from LeMoyne-Owen College. Her professional experience includes serving as executive director of the Nashville Minority Business Center, and president of the Nashville Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. She was the president of NAACP Nashville from 2005 to 2011.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 13, Mark Cole and Holly Huezo advanced to the runoff election, defeating Furtesha Carter.[2] Huezo defeated Cole in the runoff election.[3] Incumbent Josh Stites announced his intentions not to seek re-election in February 2015.[4]
