Mario Garcia (Democratic Party) ran for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 9. He lost in the primary on June 5, 2018.
Biography
Garcia earned his associate's degree from Cosumnes River College in 2015. He then received a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2017. From 2003 to 2012, he was the owner of Strictly Steam Cleaning. Garcia has worked as a boxing coach since 2004.[1]

Garcia stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:[1]
| “ | I’ve traveled throughout the district and met with countless voters in Sacramento, Elk Grove, Galt and Lodi. What stands out to me the most, is that despite their desire to be included, so many people feel left out of the political process. It’s an unfortunate reality that many of the individuals who were elected to represent us, instead practice extreme partisanship, favor special interests, and use their positions for personal gain. We deserve better!
