An effort in Dover, Wisconsin, to recall Town Chairman Mario Lena was initiated in April 2018. Recall petitioners began gathering signatures on April 23, 2018.[1] A recall election was triggered after petitioners turned in the required number of signatures by the deadline on June 21, 2018. The recall election was held on July 31, 2018.[2]

Lena faced off against former Town Supervisor Dean Larsen and current Town Supervisor Sam Stratton.[3]

Recall vote

The recall election was held on July 31, 2018. Voters approved removing Lena from office. Sam Stratton earned enough votes on July 31 to win election without the need for a runoff.[4]

Recall organizers accused Lena of acting unprofessionally and failing to represent the interests of Dover residents.[1]

Recall petitioners began gathering signatures on April 23, 2018, and had until June 21, 2018, to collect 411 signatures to trigger a recall election.[1] Former Town Chairman Tom Lembcke turned in the petition with 436 valid signatures, triggering the recall election.[2]
