My name is Mario J. Lomuscio. I'm a devout Christian, devoted husband, and loving father. Having spent over a decade in the private sector, I feel it's time to bring my business management experience and hands on work ethic to the public arena.

I am not a politician. I'm not a lawyer and I don't fit the typical mold for a political figure. I'm package delivery courier. I work everyday with my heart and my hands to provide a living for my lovely wife and two young sons. As such I'm intimately familiar with the concerns of North Carolina's working men and women. As a political outsider and a constitutional conservative, I plan on bringing business-minded common sense solutions to address our modern challenges. Back is the way forward. Back to our founding principles of limited government, individual liberty, and equal opportunity.

Through principled conservative leadership, I know that North Carolina's best days are still ahead of her. I have a vision for our great state. I see a future full of optimism and opportunity. Help me turn that vision for N.C. into a victory for N.C.
  • Improve the quality of our education system with open enrollment and School Choice
  • Lower taxes and cut regulations
  • Protect the sanctity of life
Economics, education, and the proper role of government.
Jesus Christ. He is the archetypal perfect man. He is the exemplar of virtue. He is the way the truth and the life. Since taking Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, I can think of no more perfect goal than to walk in the shadow of the cross and follow as closely as I can to His footsteps. No doubt that I fail everyday to meet such a perfect standard, but it is a blessing to wake up every day to try.
Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, John Locke's Second Treatise of Government, Federalist Papers by Madison, Hamilton, and Jay, The Law by Bastiat, Free to Choose by Milton Friedman, and Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell.
Strict adherence to the Constitution and the protection of fundamental inalienable rights.
I have a strong work ethic. I'm compassionate and understanding. I'm an excellent listener. I approach a problem not to prove that I'm right but rather to work diligently to solve the problem even if it means admitting I'm wrong. I take responsibility for my actions. I'm honest and trustworthy. I am open to new ideas, I never give up, and I fight for what I believe in.
To be the voice of the people and to be a principled representative.
I would like to play at least a small roll in making North Carolina's education system the best in world.
I bagged groceries at Food Lion. I had that job less than a year. I then moved on to work in the restaurant industry where I became a General Manager by the age of 19.
The Holy Bible. I read it everyday and I have still yet to scratch the surface of its wisdom and complexity. There are passages I've read dozens of times, yet every time I read them I'm filled with new wisdom as if I'm reading it for the first time.

I realize that however true it may be, "the Bible" could be considered by some to be a clichéd answer. So, I'll also add my favorite book that is not the Bible. My next favorite would have to be Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It's a brilliant novel. There are so many themes and stories so beautifully woven into one another that it's a book I could read again and again. The character development and dialogue are so meticulously layered into the story that I love it more each time I read it. It is truly a literary masterpiece.
Captain America. He's an unlikely hero, weak in stature yet strong in virtue. He's given an opportunity to undergo a painful experimental procedure wherein he might obtain super human powers. He knows if it doesn't kill him, it will likely lead to an inevitable life of woe and hardship. He also knows he will have the power to do remarkable good. He decides to take up his cross and answer the call forthrightly and with courage. He doesn't become the strongest hero, but through his virtue and leadership, he becomes one of the most respected. Brave and strong, he never backs down from a fight and he always does the right thing.
Apples and Bananas. (I have a 15 month old and a 3 month old.)
I struggle with my weight. I've lost over 100lbs over the years but I still have a long way to go. I've battled my weight my whole life.
How the districts are broken up and how representation is established between the 2 houses. It's of fundamental importance to maintain separation of powers.
Not necessarily. Sometimes the most effective political figures are elected without political experience.
The quality of our education and our economic advancement.
A relationship that places the people of N.C. first regardless of which party holds the Governor's office.
Absolutely. It's extremely beneficial to the citizens of N.C. for their legislators to have solid working relationships so that differences can be worked through and resolved.
Not particularly. I want to establish myself as my own person.
