This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $1.3 million in order to help pay for a school storm shelter as well as make improvements as needed to school facilities. The bond would not increase the current property tax rate, just extend it for the life of the bond repayments. FEMA would also issue a grant to help build the storm shelter if the measure is approved. The shelter would house the students of the school as well as the community.[2]
