This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which was set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:
A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Marion Township for the purpose of fire protection services at a rate not exceeding one (1.0) mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to ten cents ($0.10) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
