Marisa Demeo is an associate judge for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She was nominated to the seat by President Obama in March of 2009 and confirmed by the Senate on April 20, 2010.[1][2][3]

Education

Demeo received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1988 and her J.D. from New York University School of Law.[3]

Professional career

Demeo began her legal career as a trial attorney with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. Next, she worked with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. In 2004, Demeo joined the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.[3]

Prior to her elevation to the associate judge, Demeo served as a magistrate judge in the criminal division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She joined the court in 2007.[3]
