Noteworthy events
Assault charge (2024)
On June 21, 2024, Simonetti was booked into the Hennepin County jail and charged with one count of misdemeanor fifth-degree assault following a tenant dispute. Simonetti made her first court appearance on June 24, 2024, and she was released without bail under the condition that she not have contact with her accuser.[2]
In a video posted on X on June 24, 2024, Simonetti indicated that she was still running for county commissioner in District 6.[3]
On October 17, 2024, Simonetti was arraigned in Hennepin County District Court on one count of misdemeanor fifth-degree assault. A pre-trial date was scheduled for January 9, 2025. Simonetti indicated that she planned to plead not guilty.[4]
