Marisa Tinkler Mendez is a judge of the Florida 11th Circuit Court. She assumed office on January 1, 2007. Her current term ends on January 7, 2031.

Mendez won re-election for judge of the Florida 11th Circuit Court outright in the general election on November 5, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.

Biography

Education

Mendez was born in 1960 in Brooklyn, NY. She received her B.S. degree (in Biology) from Syracuse University in December of 1981 and her J.D. degree from Suffolk Law School in May of 1985.[1][2]

Career

Mendez began her career in 1985 with the law firm of Black & Furci, P.A. She then started her own solo practice, Marisa Tinkler Mendez, P.A., in April of 1993. She worked in that capacity until 2006, when she was elected to the circuit court. She has also served as a Special Assistant Public Defender for the 11th Judicial Circuit.[1]
