I have almost thirty-five years experience appraising properties in Miami-Dade County as a State General Appraiser. Including the last ten years working at the Miami-Dade County Office of the Property Appraiser in various capacities.

As a graduate of Miami Dade College, I continued with my passion for public service and graduated from Florida International University (FIU) in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. I am currently an Adjunct Professor at my Alma Mater.

I am the past Chair of the Miami-Dade County Commission on Human Rights. I am the past-president of the League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade and until recently was the 1st Vice-President of the League of Women Voters of Florida. I am a board member of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) South Florida. Marisol is a proud resident of Miami-Dade County and a mother of two children, Thomas and Scott.
  • Efficiency - Bring the office into the 21st century by improving internal communication between systems to ensure departments are working cohesively, avoid waste of taxpayer dollars, and provide easy access and comprehensive information to individual property owners or their representatives while providing outstanding customer service.
  • Accessibility - The Office of the Property Appraiser should be easily accessible to residents who have questions and concerns regarding their property taxes. Too many Miami-Dade residents have difficulty traveling Downtown or to our South Dade offices – residents have to navigate traffic, pay for parking, or depend on public transportation. I will work to establish satellite offices throughout the county for taxpayers to be able to access offices near where they live or work with ease.
  • Transparency - Many taxpayers are not aware of the tax savings available to them. They don’t know or understand the issues that impact their property values. I will promote education campaigns to taxpayers and real estate industry professionals so they understand the benefits available and how to avoid pitfalls.
I am passionate about the housing crisis and current increase in property values.
An elected official show be honest, trustworthy and transparent among other characteristics.
I am a leader that listens to the constituency and works to improve my community.
The core responsibilities of the Office of the Property Appraiser is to identify and assess all properties in the county for taxable purposes. Responsabilities also include the certification of the annual tax roll and the administration of exemptions, as well as the maintenance of all property records.
