Marissa A. Bejarano is a judge of the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. She assumed office in 2021. Her current term ends on January 6, 2031.
Bejarano won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of San Diego County in California outright in the primary on March 5, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.
She was appointed to the court on September 3, 2021, by Gavin Newsom (D). Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Bejarano's appointment on September 3, 2021, identified her as a Democrat.[1]
Biography
Bejarano received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. From 2006 to 2013, she served as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General. From 2014 to 2019, she served as a Deputy District Attorney at the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as a Community Partnership Prosecutor from 2019 until her 2021 appointment to the Superior Court of San Diego County.[1]
