Hi My name is Marissa Giovenco, and I am a criminal defense attorney with over 14 years of courtroom experience. I have served our justice system from multiple perspectives, including as a former prosecutor and not as a defense attorney. That experience has given me a balanced understanding of the law, the people it affects, and the responsibility that comes with making decisions that impact lives. I am running for the 226th District Court because I believe judges should be experienced, fair and grounded in the realities of the courtroom. I am committed to treating every person with respect, applying the law thoughtfully, and ensuring that our court operates with integrity and efficiency.
  • Experience on both sides of the courtroom With more than 14 years of courtroom experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, I bring a practical, balanced perspective to the bench.
  • Fairness and respect Every person who comes into the courtroom deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of why they are there. I believe in listening carefully, applying the law fairly, and making decisions based on the facts and the law.
  • Service to our community I am committed to serving Bexar County with integrity and ensuring that the court is efficient, accessible, and worthy of public trust.
I am passionate about policies that promote fairness, public safety, and trust in the justice system. This includes ensuring due process, improving court efficiency, and supporting practices that treat everyone with dignity and respect while holding people accountable under the law. I believe the courts play a critical role in the community and should operate transparently, fairly, and responsibly.
I am honored to have received endorsements from the Bexar County Tejano Democrats, Northeast Bexar County Democrats, San Antonio Police Officers Association, Texas Organizing Project, and Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio, as well as the support of Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark and Precinct 2 Constable Leticia Vazquez.
