Marjorie Matthews is a former member of the San Jose City Council in California, representing District 4. She was appointed to the council in December 2014, following the resignation of former District 4 representative Kansen Chu, who won election to the California State Assembly in 2014.

Matthews took office in January 2015. She served a partial term. The District 4 seat was up for election on April 7, 2015, and a runoff election took place on June 23, 2015. As part of her appointment to hold the District 4 seat, Matthews agreed not to run for election to a full term.

She previously held the District 4 seat from 1993 to 2000.[1]
