Mark A. Steinbeck
Mark A. Steinbeck was a judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in Lee County, Florida. He was appointed by former Governor Jeb Bush in April 2006. In 2008, he was elected to a term.[1][2][3] Steinbeck resigned from the bench on December 31, 2014.[4]
Steinbeck is married to fellow circuit judge Margaret O. Steinbeck.[1]
Education
Steinbeck received his B.A. degree from Mercer University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1976.[1]
Career
Steinbeck served as a judge advocate general (JAG) officer, on active duty in the U.S. Army, from 1976 to 1991. He then worked as a civil litigation attorney at the law firms of Peper, Martin, Jensen, Maichel and Hetlage and Roetzel & Andress. In 2000, he was appointed to serve as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Florida. He worked in that capacity until he was appointed to the circuit court in 2006.[1]
