Hanni was defeated in his bid for election to the Seventh District Court of Appeals. He was defeated by Mary DeGenaro in the general election on November 6, receiving 47.79% of the vote.[1][2]

Hanni received his undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and his J.D. degree from the Duquesne University Law School.[3][4]
Career
Hanni supervises a law office and has a legal practice that specializes in criminal, civil, medical malpractice, personal injury, and civil rights law. He also served as the Democrat deputy director of the Mahoning County Board of Elections from 1985 to 1996.[4]
