I believe our democracy works best when many voices join together to address the issues. No single person - or party - is right 100% of the time. That said, the decision makers need accurate and informed information to reach the best conclusions.
  • While this is my first campaign for elected office, I have been involved in boards throughout this county for almost 20 years.
  • Though not a native of Orange County, I've supported by wife's family who have been residents for over 150 years.
  • I have the education and background to help assure that the residents of Orange County receive the maximum benefit for their payment of taxes.
Our community pays for a number of shared resources. I want to be sure its getting the most out of those payments.
I had a chance to meet Bill Gates, and listen to him present a plan and the challenges for an emerging technology. He was clear of vision, realistic in identification of difficulties, and committed to solutions.
BTW - Microsoft solved the difficulties and developed the new technology.
I've worked with the county government and am familiar with the people and the information needed to serve on the Council. I have a BS degree from a prestigious University where I graduated with honors. My career was in banking, finance, and technology.
To be knowledgeable on the sources and uses of monies in Orange County. Help agencies get the resources they need and assure that waste is eliminated.
I would like to be remembered as someone who was generous and willing to help others.
I most vividly remember the 9/11 attacks. My wife Peggy was an airline captain, on a trip. I was employed in an office tower in Atlanta Georgia, helping to quickly determine a strategy to keep our employees safe.
I began working part time at the age of 14 (paper route) and continued working until this day.
Sailing True North - Adm James Stravidis - Examines the leadership character of Naval Figures throughout history. I had to opportunity to meet Adm Stravidis. He is an impressive engaging leader.
I hated quitting smoking. The quitting was the reason I won't start again.
A four year old skiing student was playing 20 questions on a chairlift ride. The instructor decided to ask a serious question - and said "Who is the Speaker of the House?"

The child pondered for a moment are responded "Alexa??"
Transparency is essential and frequently missing in government. I have worked on many boards and have always sought to assure transparency and accountability.
