Mark Barber
Mark Baber was a candidate for the District 2 seat on the Lowndes County Schools school board in Georgia in the general election on May 20, 2014.
Biography
Barber attended Lowndes High School and graduated from Valdosta State University in 1986 with an Accounting degree. He worked for Flowers Industries after graduating from college. He then accepted a job with the City of Valdosta as a staff accountant. He served the City in this capacity for seven years before accepting a job as the Director of Financial Services for the City of Thomasville, Georgia. In October of 2000, Barber accepted a position as the Finance Director for the City of Valdosta and was eventually named Deputy City Manager of Administration in 2007. Barber is married and has two children.[1]
