Mark Barnett was a circuit court judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in South Dakota. Barnett was appointed to the court in June 2007 by former Governor Mike Rounds and served until his retirement from the court on March 22, 2019.[1][2]

Barnett received both his bachelor's degree and J.D. from the University of South Dakota.[4]

Career

Prior to his elevation to the bench, Barnett practiced law privately and served as a state's attorney for Hughes County.[1] He served as a state attorney general from 1991 until 2002.[5]
