Campaign themes

2014

Bray's campaign website listed the following issues:[3]

  • Investment: "It is essential to the prosperity of a free people that they have access to free commerce. At an ever quickening pace, the human race is advancing in science and technology. It is an essential role of government through direct and indirect investment, to lead in development of infrastructure which facilitates that commerce within the states, across the states, and beyond the states."
  • Education: "For America to compete in the 21st century, our educational system requires reform. Our children must be job ready, technology ready, and leadership ready to lead in this global economy. Mark believes there is no ideology to education - we need results. As congressmen, Mark will work with our local and state leaders to promote solutions that will work for all Americans."
  • Innovation: "The challenges of the 21st century are many. The key to answering the challenges is for our people to be inspired to creativity and enable fair and open channels for those ideas to come to fruition. America must not abandon its leadership in science and technology. Likewise, it must not succumb to isolationism or protectionism. It is through a paradoxical blend of cooperation and competition that the best solutions can be found."
  • Opportunity: "Our country was founded on the idea that every person had the right to pursue happiness. While not a guarantee for success, it was intended that America would not have a system of social barriers to success. While many social and legal reforms have been implemented since the end of the Civil War, the vast majority of Americans feel that opportunities to pursue happiness are truly vanishing, while the wealthiest become the most influential."
  • Growth: "Stable growth can be achieved if it is truly organic and born out of the prior four pillars. It is a product of proper management of the four inputs combined with a sound monetary system. Inflation and deflation are not natural and are destabilizing to the economy. It is imperative that real economic growth be realized if America is going to lead the world to peace and prosperity."
