I have lived near Trenton for over thirty years. I grew up in the area before the boom. I attended and graduated from Trenton School in 2003. I also graduated from Williston State College in 2005 with an Associate of Arts degree. I attended and graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2008. After I graduated, I moved back to Trenton. I moved back to the area for the same reason that people still come to the area, the prospect of great paying jobs. I care about this is community because it is my home. I am a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Buford and the Williston Basin Curling Club in Williston.
  • I am in this race because we need to bring common sense back to District 23. Our house members have not been looking out for our interests. We had one lie about transgendered kids getting beaten in our schools in a committee meeting. Our other got a DUI last year. While being arrested, he spouted off racist and homophobic language to the Williston Police. He was kicked off his committee because of this. We do not stand for this kind of behavior in our area. The people of this area have a choice in November. I will work for the people of District 23 unlike our current members.
  • We need to keep working on the quality of life in the area. We need to keep investing in our area schools to make sure that they are the best. We need to make sure that we have adequate facilities to prevent overcrowding. We also need to make sure that we are retaining quality teachers and recruiting new ones. We need to work on child care so that we can grow our workforce. We need to make sure that roads are good condition because so much of our commerce is conducted on our roads. We also need to make sure that we bringing in new investments to the area. We need to do this responsibly so that we are not altering current residents property values or quality of life.
  • I am for the continued drilling and exploration for oil in area. This has a direct effect on me and everyone here. I want to make sure that we are doing this responsibly. We need to make sure that when are drilling/fracing that when they are done with it that land is still usable. It needs to be in the same condition that they found it. If there are spills, we need to make sure that they are cleaned up in the correct manner to make the land usable. We also need to make sure that we enforcing the laws that are already on the books. like capping of flares after one year. As this is a one-time harvest, we need to make sure that we are taking care of future generations.
I believe that we need to return common sense back to our government. I also for the conservation of land for future generations.
Our public officials need to have integrity. This is important we work for our constituents. Without integrity, people will not trust their government and how corruption enters our politics. Government does not work when there is corruption. It is also important to have empathy. It is hard to work for the people, when you do not understand how they live their lives.
I would like to help make this area a better place. I would proud if my legacy is that we continue to invest in vital infrastructure that will outlast me.
Probably the Oklahoma City Bombing. I was 10 years old. I remember getting home from school. I was watching the TV when the news broken in. It was absolutely horrific.
No, because new perspectives are essential to our growth. New legislators might bring their real world expertise to our government. This can change how we do things or provide answers to important issues.
Yes, it is they only way things get done. Plus, if elected I will be in the super minority. I will have reach across the aisle in order to get anything accomplished.
What is a pirates favorite letter? You would think it would be "R" but its really the Sea.
