Mark Ellmore was born in Alexandria, Virginia. He studied at Northern Virginia Community College, at the National Savings and Loan League Institute, and with the American Banker's Association. Ellmore’s career experience includes working in banking.

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a live long resident of the district and I am running for office to bring back balance to Northern Virginia. It is an incredible honor to have the opportunity to love and serve my neighbors.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Bringing balance back to Northern Virginia
• Solutions, not sound bites.
• Promote equality and opportunity for all

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Constituent services, the environment/traffic abatement to improve the quality of live, and promoting freedom

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

I am a disciple of Christ. I look to Him for my example of how to love, serve, forgive, and care for others. My life was literally transformed through my faith and that is why His example is how I want to live my life.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

Tucker Carlson Ship of Fools say's it all.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Honesty, integrity, and a servants heart.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I love serving others.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

to listen and serve the needs of everyone. not just those who agree with you

What legacy would you like to leave?

Let people see Christ through me. Let them see a caring, loving, and trustworthy servant leader.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

JFK assassination. I was 5 years old.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

i began my first permanent job right out of high school as a drive thru bank teller. I have been in banking and client care for over 43 years. I rose to senior executive before the age of 30 and am currently a mortgage banking executive.

What is your favorite book? Why?

The Bible, because it speaks to my soul and encourages me.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

G.I. Joe

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

God's not dead.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Becoming over extended in trying to solve the problems of so many.

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

The ability to directly impact the lives of millions of Americans with a single vote.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

no. the system is not set up to be a lifetime appointment and we need term limits and to eliminate pensions for elected officials.

What do you perceive to be the United States’ greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Preventing the expansion of the socialist ideology. Russian leaders proclaimed "we will destroy America and never fire a single shot". We must stand for freedom and liberty and our right to free speech, freedom of religion, and secure our 2nd amendment rights.

If you are not a current representative, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?

i speak Arabic and Farsi and want to serve on a committee that allows me to leverage my knowledge of middle east policies. Additionally, i want to serve on financial advisory teams to take advantage of my vast experience in banking to prevent abuse and corruption while protecting consumer rights.

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

i believe two 4 year terms makes better sense to prevent the constant campaigning.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

5 terms for USHR and 3 for Senate. Eliminate all pensions and allow for 401k and same insurance plan as other federal workers.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

Tom Davis, VA11 former representative. He simply got things done.

Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

the death of Bijan, a young Iranian shot and killed by U.S. Park Police over two years ago. His family still has no answers, and they desperately want and need one.
