My name is Mark Fraizer, and I have been married to my wife, Meghan, for 6 years. We have an 8-month old daughter, Willow. I attended Newark High School and Otterbein College (studying Business and Economics) and have worked in the Financial Industry for 9 years, while serving on Newark City Council since 2016. Since last year, I have served the people of the 71st House District as State Representative, and I am running on March 17th to retain the position. My family is a 4th generation Newark family, and we have always been passionate about improving our community, working for families, and serving the needs of others. I hope to continue to serve my community and improve the quality of life for the people of Licking County.
  • Economic Development - With my education and local government experience, we will improve the process, applicability, and effect within our district.
  • Infrastructure - We will partner with all stakeholders to improve water, wastewater, transit, and other key infrastructure to ensure a sound foundation for future growth.
  • Experience - I am currently serving in the position, and have previous legislative experience, which separates me from the other candidates.
Job Creation, Education, Health Policy, Aging, Local Economic Development, and sustainable planning in the district and throughout the State.
I lost my father at the age of 15 but he was always my inspiration with his dedication to his family, his faith in Christ, and his always uplifting personality. I have always tried to emulate his attributes in all walks of my life
Honesty, approachability, empathy, integrity, and compassion.
Ability to perform critical thinking about issues, approachable, and willing to solve for the best solution. Working in the financial industry and private sector, I have always maintained the ability to multi-task and focus on incremental steps to complete large efforts.
To represent the people of the district and the state to enact legislation to solve issues in their best interest, advocating on their behalf and working and engaging with everyone to facilitate change.
An improved State and District with long-term stability and opportunity for all citizens.
I remember watching portions of the Ariel bombing and US invasion in the Persian Gulf War in 1991.
I started my career as a part-teller at Park National Bank due to the terrible economic climate. I received 4 promotions in 2 years, and then began my career as a project manager in banking where I have remained ever since.
I lost my father at the age of 15 and have always had to work hard for my personal, professional, and public careers; I have always prioritized my family and faith to ensure I value every second of time we have together.
Due to the smaller size of the House District, it's easier to tackle local, constituent issues and propose creative solutions to problems.
I absolutely believe that previous experience is necessary to understand the legislative process, know how to build consensus, and ensure quality law writing, especially at the State Level.
Workforce development and having the skilled labor for in-demand jobs, educational funding to ensure accessibility and sustainability, and continue to make Ohio the most competitive State for Business to ensure future progress.
Collaborative and implementing policy in a respectful relationship
Absolutely, it is essential to build trust among peers to ensure legislation is appropriate, functional, and ultimately enacted; it is essential to work with all members to make progress in the legislative process.
I believe that Insurance, Aging and Long-Term Care, Labor and Commerce, and Ways and Means all play essential parts in Ohio. Aging has one of the fastest growing populations and many unaddressed pressures on funding, taxation is always in need of improvement to maintain equality and competitive advantage, Insurance Committee is essential for improving the lives of everyday Ohioans, and Labor and Commerce is essential for a competitive Ohio.
I would like to continue in my path in the legislature to grow into a leadership role, with a Vice Chairman or Chairman roles in the next General Assembly and grow organically into leadership.
For present, I have really enjoyed working with Bob Cupp and respect his passion and attention to detail.
There have been many constituents who have had very impactful stories; individuals who have been injured while working, children who lost their parents, and normal people trying to navigate State and Local Government issues. I always prioritize working with constituents and working toward resolving their issues.

Scorecards

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
