Campaign themes
2011
Frechette's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
- Education and Homeschooling
- Excerpt: "The governments of Virginia (townships, city/county and the Commonwealth) should be involved in public school teacher certification and evaluation, educational curricula, textbook selection, and setting learning standards, not the federal government. We should limit federal government influence in Virginia to information and suggestions."
- Energy and the Environment
- Excerpt: "It is our responsibility to care for the Earth that God has made us stewards of. In Virginia, we should explore different avenues of producing cleaner and clean energy, to help preserve the environment and reduce pollution. However, we should also consider expanding our exploration and development of potential energy sources in Virginia..."
- Marriage
- Excerpt: "I wholeheartedly support Section 15-A of Virginia's Constitution, which states: "That only a union between one man and one woman may be a marriage valid in or recognized by this Commonwealth and its political subdivisions."
- Right to Keep & Bear Arms
- Excerpt: "The right to bear arms is in Article I, Section 13 of the Virginia Constitution and in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. This protected right allows citizens to safeguard life, liberty, and property, and helps us preserve state sovereignty and the independence of this great nation."
- Sanctity of Life
- Excerpt: "If our Constitution says that we cannot deprive our future generations of their inherent rights or divest (take away from) their explicitly named rights to life and liberty, why do we? Why does Virginia allow the right to life be taken from our posterity through legal abortion? In Article I, Section 11, it says, "That no person shall be deprived of his life, liberty, or property without due process of law.""
- State Sovereignty
- Excerpt: "I believe that the Tenth Amendment is as valid today as it was at its ratification. The powers that the Federal Government has should be restricted as is outlined in the United States Constitution. Any power that is not specifically outlined in the Constitution belongs to the States or to the citizens of the United States."
- Taxes and State Economy
- Excerpt: "REDUCE TAXES. Reducing taxes puts more money into the hands of the people who earned that money. Taxes are needed to maintain the state’s infrastructure, but excessive taxes only result in lowering the economy and growing government. A balance must be achieved. First, we need to find the right balance on taxes, then, government needs to create and strictly follow a balanced budget plan."
- Term Limits
- Excerpt: "If elected to the VA Senate, I will fight for term limits."
