Mark G. Mastroianni is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to confirmation he was the District Attorney for Hampden County, Massachusetts. He was nominated by President Barack Obama to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts on September 24, 2013.[1] The United States Senate confirmed Mastroianni on June 4, 2014, on a vote of 92-2.[2]
Education
Mastroianni earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from American International College in 1986 and his J.D. from the Western New England College of Law in 1989.[1]

Mark G. Mastroianni was nominated by President Barack Obama to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts on September 24, 2013. The seat was vacated by Michael Ponsor when he took senior status on August 15, 2011. The President had this to say about the nomination,
| “ | These individuals have demonstrated the talent, expertise, and fair-mindedness Americans expect and deserve from their judicial system... I am grateful for their willingness to serve and confident that they will apply the law with the utmost impartiality and integrity.[1][3] | ” |
The American Bar Association rated Mastroianni Well Qualified by a substantial majority and Qualified by a minority.[4]
Mastroianni's nomination was returned by the Senate on January 3, 2014, and he was renominated on January 6th by President Obama.[5] The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing for Mastroianni on February 11, 2014. He was reported to the full Senate on March 6, 2014, by a voice vote.[6]
The United States Senate confirmed Mastroianni on June 6, 2014, on a vote of 92-2.[2]
