Gorman is self-employed as a carpenter.[2]

In information submitted to Ballotpedia, Gorman outlined his political philosophy as follows:[2]
"Jump starting redevelopment by creating incentives for local businesses. Restoring community involvement and responding to citizens’ concerns within the district. Restoring integrity to the office and gaining people’s respect through honesty and transparency. Rewarding citizens, civic groups, organizations, and businesses that continue to maintain and enhance people’s quality of life in our district."

Gorman ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 96. Gorman was defeated by Mark Williams in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Incumbent Pedro Marin (D) ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][3][4]
