Hagen ran in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 28. He and James Azeltine were defeated by Jerry Lunn in the August 7 Republican primary. Kelly Jackson ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
