Mark Mann has lived in Senate District 46 for 18 years. He attended the University of Oklahoma on a President’s Leadership Class Scholarship and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Government.

Mark served on the Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education as District 4 Board Member and was twice selected by his peers to be Vice Chair of the board. Mark represented families in the central core of Oklahoma City. Mark chaired the district’s Finance Committee and Co-Chaired the Bond Committee. In his time on the board, Mark has gained a reputation as an advocate for increased school funding, public transparency for school finances, and as an advocate for students.

Mark currently serves as a board member for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children and Families, a non-profit organization assisting children with legal representation and educational advocacy; and as a board member for Oklahoman Alliance for Healthy Families, a statewide coalition of public health experts and parents with the goal of improving the health of our schools, communities and families.

Mark is married to Tonya, a life-long educator. Mark and Tonya have two sons, Alex, who is an attorney in Denver, and Andrew who is a student at Classen School of Advanced Studies High School.
  • Our schools are under attack from extremists who want to profit off of a voucher scheme. I’ll fight to stop vouchers, increase teacher pay, increase funding for our schools, provide mental health resources to our students and families, and will always respect our teachers for the professionals they are.
  • Oklahoma is in a healthcare crisis. We must focus on increasing access to healthcare for our most vulnerable communities, and we need leaders who will bring sanity to health care policy discussions. Too many legislators are giving credence to conspiracy theorists and extremists. I trust health care professionals, and I will listen to them on issues concerning health care policy including allowing these professionals and their female patients to make reproductive decisions without government interference .
  • Oklahoma must invest in the future. Infrastructure maintenance and enhancement, workforce development initiatives, and affordable housing programs. These are all areas that will help grow our economy, create quality jobs and help grow the middle class.
Education, healthcare, workforce development, infrastructure and affordable housing are all areas that will help lift up every Oklahoman.
I worked at a lumber yard from age 16 through graduation.
Education funding continues to be the single biggest challenge we face in Oklahoma.
Over 200 organizations and community leaders have endorse my candidacy.

Scorecards

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
