Mark Holodick
Mark Holodick was the Delaware Secretary of Education. He assumed office on January 12, 2022. He left office on January 21, 2025.
He was appointed to the position on October 12, 2021, by Governor John Carney (D) to replace Susan Bunting and left at the end of his term.[1]
Biography
Mark Holodick earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and history from West Virginia Wesleyan University, a master’s degree in educational school leadership from Wilmington University, and an Ed.D. in educational leadership from the University of Delaware.[2]
Holodick was a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Brandywine School District before being named Brandywine School District's superintendent. He served in this position from 2009 to 2020. Before his appointment to Delaware Secretary of Education, Holodick served as senior leadership specialist at the University of Delaware.[2]
