Mark Hounsell (Republican Party) ran for election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Carroll 1. He lost in the Republican primary on September 13, 2022.

Hounsell was a 2018 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of New Hampshire.[1] Hounsell withdrew from the race in April 2018.[2]

Hounsell was a 2014 Independent candidate for Carroll 2 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Elections for the New Hampshire House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent Syndi White and incumbent Tom Buco were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while James LeFebvre, Frank McCarthy and Karen Umberger were unopposed in the Republican primary. Mark Hounsell ran as an independent candidate. White, Buco, LeFebvre, McCarthy, Umberger and Hounsell faced off in the general election.[4] All three incumbents were victorious in the general election based on the initial votes.[5] However, the official election results found White losing to McCarthy by 39 votes. Umberger and Buco were confirmed as victorious as well.[6]
