Hi! I’m Mark James and I’m running for seat #2 in the 38th legislative district, that includes Everett, Tulalip and Marysville.

I’m a husband, father, veteran and committed community leader. I love being involved in my community through my Rotary Club and volunteering at the Food Bank and Salvation Army. As a Marysville City Councilmember and a local business owner, I understand the hard work needed to be successful and how government can help or hinder those it is supposed to serve. My platform is founded on the principles of…

RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY and CONSEQUENCES.
  • RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY and CONSEQUENCES.
  • Public Safety: I support common-sense legislation that will allow our police officers to have the tools they need to do the job we are asking them to do.
  • The ECONOMY (Budget/Taxes) We can help relieve some of this economic anxiety we are feeling and make life more affordable through strategic tax relief and a balanced and practical budget.
ECONOMY (Budget/Taxes)

Making life more affordable through tax relief

A government that is too big or too small, is problematic.

I believe in a mid-size solution where the Government's primary role is to protect the people and set the right priorities for a healthy economy. While at the same time providing support for those in need and our most vulnerable.

As a Legislator, I can help relieve economic anxiety by helping to craft a balanced and common sense budget. I will be responsible with the taxpayers money.

PUBLIC SAFETY (Safe Communities)

It’s time to fix some bad laws and take the handcuffs off of the police and put them back on the criminals where they belong.

There were several of these bills passed by the majority party in the last 2 years. I support common-sense legislation that will allow our police officers to have the tools they need to do the job we are asking them to do. We should all be confident when calling 911 that help is on the way.

I am committed to keeping our streets, neighborhoods, and families safe by funding law enforcement and passing measures to encourage recruitment and retention. We need to be able to pursue criminals and protect our citizens and communities. Laws should be clear and consequences must be enforced.
