L. Mark Kaylor was a candidate for the Group 4 seat on the Polk County Court in Florida, but he withdrew before the primary election on August 30, 2016. He previously ran for the Florida 10th Circuit Court in 2012.

Biography

Kaylor received a B.A. and a master's degree in education from the University of Florida in 1978 and 1979, respectively. He then earned his J.D. degree from the Florida State University College of Law in 1982. Kaylor has operated the law firm of Kaylor & Kaylor, P.A. since 1984. He has also worked with East Park Avenue, LLC since 2005 and has been the owner of the Kissimmee River Park and Marina, LLC since 2006. From 1996 to May of 2012, he was the special master of the value adjustment board under the Highlands County Clerk of Court.[1]

Kaylor ran for election on August 14, 2012, but was defeated by Catherine L. Combee. He received 47.3 percent of the vote.[2][3]
