Mark L. Killian is a district court judge for the 25th Judicial District, which presides over Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba counties of North Carolina. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Bev Perdue in December 2012 to fill the vacancy created by C. Thomas Edwards's elevation to the Superior Court.[1] Killian was re-elected to the 25th Judicial District in 2014, winning a term that expired on December 31, 2018.[2][3]

Education

Killian received both his undergraduate degree and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[4]

Career

Before his appointment to the court, Killian practiced law in Catawba County for twenty-four years. He also previously served as a volunteer attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina for over fifteen years.[1]
