Mark Lopez is a member of the North Orange County Community College District in California, representing District 5. He assumed office on December 13, 2024. His current term ends on December 8, 2028.
Lopez ran for election to the North Orange County Community College District to represent District 5 in California. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Lopez obtained a B.A. and M.A. in political science from California State University, Fullerton.[1] He works as deputy chief of staff to Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson and has previously interned with U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.) and served as a policy adviser to Orange County Supervisor Chris Norby.[1][2]
Lopez was appointed by Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Lucille Kring to the Anaheim Sister City Commission, a 15-member body that advises the city council on its relationships with sister cities Mito, Japan and Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.[3]

The city of Anaheim, California, held elections for city council on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 12, 2016. Because of a switch from at-large to by-district elections, four of the six city council seats were up for election.[4][5] Steve Faessel defeated Mark Lopez, Donna Acevedo-Nelson and Sandra Angel in the Anaheim City Council District 5 general election.[6]
