I had been alarmed at the level of anger and division in our country and state. As a believer in moderation, I want to act as a bi-partisan activist, to seek compromise on both sides. To ensure the effectiveness of governance, the inflammatory and often confrontational tactics of extremists on the political Right serve no purpose. As a strong supporter of the Military, Veterans, and Police, I was horrified by the Jan. 6th attack on our nation's Capital, which was an attack on our Democracy, Law Enforcement, and Constitutional system, especially pertaining to the peaceful transfer of executive power. My overall goal in the Virginia Assembly will be to uphold the principles of our Founding Fathers, which have made the United States the greatest country in the world.

I am also a believer in public service. When I served as an Officer with the 82nd Airborne Division and later as the Company Commander of a Military Police unit in the Army reserves, I saw it as an opportunity to not only make a personal and professional impact but also to somehow “payback” to a nation which has been good to my family and me. It is a feeling of altruism and respect for the dignity of all citizens which seems to have been lost these last few years.

  • Pro-Choice is not a luxury, it is a necessity. A woman should be allowed to decide for herself in consultation with her family and physician, how she should decide. The facilities that support this choice should be available without intimidation or violence. In my campaign, I would be a tireless and fearless vocal and legislative advocate to protect CHOICE. The health, well-being, and the right of women to decide for themselves what is best for their own bodies is at stake.
  • I am against all forms of Extremism as well as critical of those who I term “silent enablers.” They may not agree with the extremist’s actions or demagoguery, but they say nothing to criticize them out of personal fear or political repercussions. Lacking the desire to stand up for principles is a cowardly evasion.
  • Funding for the Police and other First Responders needs to be increased. For the Police, it will result in more training in how to de-escalate situations in the field, as well as helping to improve retention and lower turnover.
Public Education needs increased funding for all schools, especially those that are lower performers. Family and Teacher collaboration is a necessity!

Environmental Protection needs to be expanded. Gov. Youngkin’s plan to remove Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative must be opposed. This is another example of an ill-conceived policy promoted by large corporations (Dominion Energy is a prime example) that influences sound policies of governance.

Gun Safety. As a Gun owner, I would advocate for more extensive background checks before the purchase of a firearm. The enforcement of Red Flag laws must be a critical component of any type of gun control. We have lockdown drills in the schools on a regular basis. When I was growing up, there was no such thing. The carnage that has occurred with the mass shootings needs to be addressed. This would be the first step in doing so.

Voting Rights must not be suppressed. If anything, the right and opportunity to vote need to be expanded.

Civil Rights need to be respected and all individuals should be treated equally without discrimination of any sort allowed to factor in.
I look up to our Veterans and the sacrifices they have made for our nation.
Integrity, honesty, trust, and a commitment to defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic.
To be responsive to the voters of the state of Virginia. To protect and serve faithfully, with honesty and commitment. To make this a safer world for our children and grandchildren.
To leave this world a better place for our children and grandchildren than what we have now.
My first job was being a part-time Taxi Cab Driver in New York City while I was attending Columbia University. I drove nights during the weekends for a year and a half, as well as took one semester off to work it full time. Nighttime work was the most profitable so I took advantage of it. Once I received my Graduate Degree in International Affairs, I then entered the military as a 1st Lieutenant with the 82nd Airborne Division as a Platoon Leader.
Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen.
Combating extremism at all levels. It is important that the level of anger be reduced and that nobody will be getting everything that they want.
No, I do not. Often someone with a perspective can be more effective than someone who has been tainted by years of repetitive governing.
Absolutely. That is the only way we can get issues discussed and resolved. Not everyone with always get what they want. Civil discussion is a necessity.
Absolutely. As a believer in bi-partisanship, it is a necessity.
Allow Pro-Choice for women's reproductive rights.
