As a father of two current TUSD students and a longtime Tustin/Santa Ana resident, I am invested in our community and schools.  My family has three generations of public school teachers. My grandmother and mother were both credentialled public school teachers. My wife is a public school teacher who has served for over 20 years in many roles, including as a mentor teacher. Our home has always been filled with stories from the classroom and a dedication to students and families. In my career, I have been tested and proven to be a caring and effective leader. For 20 years, I served as the National Director of JUCE, a media content company. In that leadership role, I led teams nationwide while simultaneously managing multiple projects across the United States. I have learned how to care for and communicate with people from different backgrounds, how to prioritize time, manage budgets and be accountable for my teams. Today, I am a small business owner who has also given back to our community in various ways, ranging from international aid trips to serving in food banks to being involved with coaching baseball for Northeast Santa Ana Little League and as a mentor for teen boys.
  • Priority number one is to have safe schools. To proactively gaurding against both external and internal threats. This means working with Tustin city leaders and police to enhance security protocols, continue to champion anti-bullying programs and have a zero tolerance policy towards predatory behavior that has plagued TUSD the last four years.
  • To make it clear that TUSD is pro parents. To recognize that parents are partners and not a problem so that we can foster a spirit of collaboration between educators and families.
  • In light California's projected budget shortfall of 40-60 billion dollars next year and in years to come, one of my top priorities will be to be a voice to protect extracurricular activities that play a crucial role in a student’s development such as our arts, music and sports programs. I will also be a supporter of both Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways for our students.
I look up to Ronald Reagan because he was a person of good character. He ran a very successful administration.
I am center right on the political spectrum. I enjoy reading. Some fo the books that have informed me or that I find intersting are: The Presidents Club by Gibbs & Duffy, In Confidence by Dobrynin, Parting the Waters America in the King Years 1954-63 by Branch and The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by Maxwell. There are many more
To care about/for the people they serve and the institution they represent.
I like people. I have been in a leadership role for over 20 years, where a large staff would report directly to me. I'm pragmatic, compassionate, hard-working, enjoy learning new things, and known to be a good listener.
To be servent to the community, students , families and employees of Tustin Unfied School District. To be actively engaged with all stakeholders and executing ones job responsibilities in a competent and professional manner.
I would like to be remembered as someone who others enjoyed being around and trusted.
The first historical event I remember was President Ronald Reagan being shot. I was 11 years old at the time.
My first job was a paperboy at age 10 and my first high school job was a box boy at a local grocery story at age 16.
I remember reading Of Mice and Men in high school and that book stayed with me. I have since read dozens of his books for enjoyment.
I would want to be superman.....At this point I would settle for his looks.
Besides hitting a curve ball in baseball...sometimes I have self doubt and set unrealistic expectations upon myself.
The school board’s primary responsibilities are to:

• Establish and direct the vision and goals for the

       district

• Offer policies that give the district direction to set

        priorities and achieve its goals

• Hire and evaluate the superintendent
• Adopt and oversee the annual budget
• Be a part of the collective bargaining process for

employees of the district
All residence who live within the TUSD area, specifically those who live in area #4 and all students and employees connected to TUSD.
A teacher that has good classroom management, knows the subject matter and uses effective ways to teach the content to the students. Although the overall goal is to have each student learn and grow, there needs to be a uniform and standard grading system that reflects student's knowledge of each given subject.
Why didn't King Tut ever want to go trick or treating? He didn't want to leave his mummy. This is my favorite joke because I made this joke up myself. I am willing to go on the record with this statement.
I am endorsed by the entire Orange County board of education and mayor Austin Lumbard.
An ideal learning enviroment is when the student feel safe and cared for. It is important that the teacher has good classroom management practices and sets up an effective learning environment where goals and expectations are clear.
By letting parents know that their concerns matter to me. By being willing to listen to them and being available to them.
One easy answer is to implement the pratice of hiring teachers and staff ealier in the school year. Currently TUSD has a reputation of hiring new teacher postions right befor the school year begins which often means the best candidates have already accepted postions elsewhere.
I believe in physical responsible policies and transparency. Office holders should always be mindful that public money comes from individuals and families and if public money is misused it hurts individuals and families.
