Mark A. Moreno is a part-time federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota. He has served in this position since 1993.[1][2] Moreno briefly served as a full-time federal magistrate judge in 2021.[3]
Biography and Education
Mark Moreno was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1958. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1980 and his J.D. degree from Creighton University in 1983.[2]
Career
Judge Moreno began his career in 1983 as an assistant attorney general. He became a special assistant attorney general in 1986 and he worked in this position until 2000. During this time he also worked as a deputy state's attorney from 1986 to 1988 and as state's attorney from 1989 to 1993. He was appointed as a part-time federal magistrate judge in 1993. He also works as a lawyer.[2]
