Mark Newburn
Mark Newburn was the vice president of the Nevada State Board of Education. He was appointed by Gov. Steve Sisolak (D) in December 2020, to succeed Elaine Wynn. He assumed office on January 2, 2021.[1][2]
Biography
Mark Newburn graduated from Rancho High School. Newburn earned a B.S. in computer science and an M.S. from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.[3][4] His career experience includes working as a computer scientist and owning Vizics Inc.[3][5]
Political career
Nevada State Board of Education (2013-2023)
Newburn was first elected to the board in November 2012 and took office in January 2013. On January 19, 2017, Newburn was elected to a term as vice president of the board.[6] Newburn was reappointed to another term as vice president in December 2020.[1]
