Mark S. Kouris

Mark S. Kouris is a Utah Third Judicial District judge for Salt Lake County for the West Jordan District Court.[1] Kouris was appointed to this position by Gov. Jon Huntsman in April 2006.[2]
Kouris won a retention election on November 8, 2016.[3]
Biography
Kouris received his master's degree in business administration. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Utah in 1993.[2] After receiving his law degree, Kouris worked for Procter & Gamble and as manager and founder of a packaging and shipping company. He worked as assistant state attorney general and deputy district attorney for six years. Kouris worked for five years in the Utah Federal Defender's Office.[2]

Utah held retention elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for sitting judges seeking retention was April 15, 2016. Mark S. Kouris was retained in the Utah 3rd District Court (Kouris Seat) election with 74.12 percent of the vote. [3]
