Mark Samsel was a 2014 Republican candidate for Rockingham 7 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
Biography
Samsel's professional experience includes working as a Senior Manager at the Lincoln Financial Group. He earned his B.S. in Management Information Science from New Hampshire College and AS in Management Information Science from Springfield Technical Community College.[1]
Campaign themes
In an electronic communication with Ballotpedia, Samsel described his political philosophy:[1]
"Foster a balanced budget for the state through management of expenses, implementing efficiencies throughout state agencies, and supporting policies that will make New Hampshire a business oriented and friendly state. I do not support any broad-based sales or income tax. I support individual liberties and freedom as written in our Federal and State Constitutions."

2014
Elections for the New Hampshire House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Three candidates were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while six candidates faced off in the Republican primary. Anthony DiFruscia ran as an independent candidate.[2] The general election was contested by one Independent, three Democrats, and four Republicans. Anthony DiFruscia represented the Independent Party. The Democrats were Stephen Mavrellis, Henri Azibert, and Rebecca L. Brown. The Republicans participants were David Bates, New Hampshire Representative, and incumbents Mary Griffin, Walter Kolodziej, and Charles McMahon. All four Republicans were victorious over the other candidates in the general election.[3]
